We Reap What They Sow

“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” Yoda.
 
There are many amongst us who are wounded and hurting. Our economy has become brutal to those who don’t have connections to Wall St. interests. Whole communities have been laid to waste in obsolescence by an economic machine that craves ever increasing profits. This machine has no loyalty to community nor nation except when it serves it’s interest.

 
While all must be held responsible for the actions they take, we must show pity and compassion for those broken by this machine. 
 
There are those, however, who must be held responsible for yelling fire in the crowded theater. The Glen Becks of our world are no different then the Mullahs who give fiery sermons about bringing vengeance down on “our enemies.”
 
These exploiters of the wounded are agents of the dark and they should be resisted. 
 
Some have said that we should shun and ignore them. While they should be shunned, do not be mistaken, they should not be ignored. A giant spot light of indignation should be blasted on them and those that enable them.
 
The right to disagree and debate is the essence of the liberty that makes us American. To try and silence disagreement with violence is the essence of tyranny. 
 
May the blood of patriots sacrificed today be an awakening to the dangers that have beset our nation.
